New Job
Today I started working at my new job. As some of you know, I quit my social work job in November as I had ethical concerns with the company and was way too stressed out. I have been searching for a job ever since, but was unable to find one. This turned out to be a blessing as I had terrible morning sickness for so long.
I was recently offered a part time job and decided to take it as I have nothing better to do. I started working today, but I am a little worried about the job. The people were nice, but I am working right near the perfume counter and ended up with a major migrane from having to smell such strong scents for 4 hours. The other problem is that you are not allowed to have any water near you unless you have a doctor's excuse. I can get a doctor's excuse from my OB, but what a pain. I really want a job in social work, but this will do for now.
Heartbeat
I have not been feeling well over the past week, so I called my OB to make sure that my symptoms were normal. The nurse scheduled me to come in the next day (Friday) as she thought that the Doctor should evaluate me. I was not worried, but more annoyed at the symptoms that I was having. I scheduled the appointment right before lunch so that Greg would be able to come. He was unable to hear the heartbeat last time and really wanted to hear the baby.
Friday when I went in, Greg was running late and was not able to make it for the beginning of the appointment so he missed the heartbeat. The baby's heart was nice and strong at 155. When the nurse found out that Greg was on his way she promised to come back in after the doctor was done and do the heartbeat again so that "daddy" could hear his baby. Greg was so excited, but the nurse had trouble pining down the baby's heartbeat again as the baby decided to move all over my belly. She finally found it again though.
It turned out that the doctor thinks that my thyroid is acting up again. He sent me over to the hospital for blood work. I should find out soon if that is what is causing my problems. At least nothing is wrong with the baby. They said that the baby sounds nice and healthy. Only 3 1/2 weeks until we get to see it again and finally stop calling the baby "it." I can't wait!

Baby's 1st Picture
Welcome
Welcome to our website! I (Allie) have way too much time on my hands and decided to make a webpage for our new baby.
As you all should know by now, Greg and I are expecting our first baby August 9, 2006. I am currently 15weeks 6days along and doing well right now. The early part of the pregnancy was rough. From about week 6-13 I had morning sickness on a daily basis. Whoever coined the term "morning sickness" sure didn't know what they were talking about. It is more like all day sickness if you ask me.
Thankfully I am now in my 2nd trimester and the morning sickness is now gone. I have been suffering with migrane headaches, but my doctor put me on allergy medicines and the headaches are not quite as frequent now. Overall I am much healthier this trimester. I am still exhausted all of the time, but it is worth it.
I have monthly OB appointment that have been going well. At 7 weeks we got to see our first glimpse of our baby. It looked like a little blob and we couldn't tell which way was up, but it was so fun to see the little life that is inside my body. It is still a little wierd to me that I have another human being in my body. It became more real at week 15 when I was able to hear the heartbeat. Greg was not able to come to that appointment and was jealous that I was able to hear the baby and he did not. He will get to hear the heartbeat at the next ultrasound though. Speaking of which, it is scheduled for 3/24/06. We will finally be able to tell the gender and then we can stop calling the baby "jellybean" and give it a real name. I can't wait!
I will post pictures of the ultrasound and my growing belly soon.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot - we haven't registered yet so just ignore the links on the side right now.
